HUNTSVILLE | The No. 24 UAH women's lacrosse team hosted Lee in Gulf South Conference action at Charger Park on Wednesday evening and defeated the Flames 23-6.
The Chargers improved to 6-7 (2-0 GSC) on the year, while Lee dropped to 4-9 (0-2 GSC).
UAH got off to a hot start offensively as they scored six goals in the first quarter, including a three-goal quarter from freshman
Olivia Rewers. The Blue & White continued their success into the second quarter where they outscored Lee 7-to-1 to head into the halftime break with a 13-3 lead.
A 10-to-3 goal advantage in the second half sealed the win for UAH. Overall, 11 different Chargers scored goals in the game, with four players scoring a hat trick.
Sarah Cole netted a team-high four goals, while
Kate Simoncic,
Meghan Doody, and Rewers each tallied three apiece.
Ella Rutherford totaled four points in the game with a pair of goals and two assists.
Brooke Denny and
Farrah Westfall each recorded two saves in goal for the Chargers.
Reagan Flanagan and
Maya Bronson led the Blue & White in ground balls as they each hauled in four in the contest.
Next up for UAH is Senior Day at Charger Park on Saturday, March 28 at 3 p.m. when they host Montevallo.
