HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The UAH women's lacrosse closed out the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championship with an 17-11 loss to the unbeaten Flagler Saints on Saturday afternoon at John Hunt Park, finishing the contest with a 10-9 record.
UAH kept pace early, matching Flagler with a 3-3 tie after the opening quarter and staying within two goals at halftime. However, the Saints used a decisive third quarter, outscoring the Chargers 8-3, to build a lead UAH could not catch. In the final period, the Chargers found the net three times, but the Saints held off the late push.
The Chargers held a slight edge in total shots, 31-33, and were efficient offensively with 21 shots on goal. UAH also took care of the ball, committing just six turnovers compared to 13 by Flagler, and converted 14-of-15 clear attempts. The Chargers also held a 16-13 edge in collecting ground balls.
Five different Chargers recorded goals in the contest, led by Ella Rutherford with four goals. Olivia Rewers added three goals, while Lauren Pfleger chipped in two. Kate Simoncic and Corinne Baker each found the back of the net once to round out the scoring.
