SAINT LEO, Fla. | The UAH softball team saw its 2026 season come to a close on Friday afternoon, falling to Saint Leo by a score of 13-1 in the NCAA South Super Regional at Mary Cannon Cabot Field.
Saint Leo struck first with a run in the opening inning before the Chargers answered in the second. Hannah Temple led off the frame with a single, and Kylee Smith followed with an RBI double to right center to even the score at 1-1.
The Lions regained control in the third inning with three runs on a pair of RBI singles before adding three more runs in the fourth to extend the lead to 7-1.
Saint Leo put the game away with a six-run sixth inning, highlighted by a pair of RBI singles and a bases-loaded walk, while the Chargers were unable to generate additional offense over the final five innings.
Smith, Temple, and Alexa Douthitt each recorded a hit for UAH, with Smith driving in the Chargers' lone run. Douthitt and Smith both tallied doubles in the contest.
In the circle, Megan Shurtz (13-10) took the loss after allowing seven runs in 3.1 innings of work. Lydia West added 0.2 scoreless innings in relief, while Kennah Lacy and Katie Bracken also appeared for the Chargers.
The loss concludes a strong 2026 campaign for UAH, which finished the season with a 39-24 overall record and advanced to the NCAA South Super Regional round for the first time since 2018.
