LIVINGSTON, Alabama – The UAH men's soccer team rallied for a 2-1 road win over West Alabama Friday night, improving to 4-0-0 on the season and 1-0-0 in Gulf South Conference play.
After a scoreless first half, West Alabama found the net just 2 minutes into the second, giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead. The Chargers found the equalizer in the 65th minute when senior
Donovan Pruitte scored his first goal of the season off an assist from
Wesley Atoyebi. UAH took the lead in the 74th minute when freshman
Ollie Rigby scored his second goal of the season to secure the win.
The Chargers controlled much of the match, finishing with a 15-3 advantage in shots and a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. UAH held West Alabama without a shot in the first half.
Pruitte and Rigby each recorded one shot on goal and a goal, while senior
Oli Orzechowski led the Chargers with four shots and two shots on goal.
Junior
Sonny Wright played a full 90 minutes in goal, making one save while allowing just one goal on two shots on goal.
UAH returns to Charger Park Wednesday, September 16, to host Trevecca at 7:30 p.m. as they look to carry their win streak into another home matchup.
