MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 15 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team fell 1-0 to No. 7 Auburn University at Montgomery Saturday afternoon at the AUM Soccer Complex.
UAH (6-1-1, 3-1-1 GSC) conceded the lone goal of the match in the 35th minute. The Chargers were unable to find an equalizer in the second half as AUM (8-1-0, 5-0-0 GSC) held on for the shutout victory.
The Chargers finished the match with 11 shots, including five on goal. UAH recorded seven shots in the second half after totaling four in the opening 45 minutes. The Chargers also earned six corner kicks.
Senior forward
Oli Orzechowski led the Chargers with three shots, including two on goal, while senior forward
Donovan Pruitte added two shots and one shot on goal.
Stellios Starakis and
Alejandro Tocino Vidal each recorded two shots, with Tocino Vidal putting one shot on goal.
Junior goalkeeper
Sonny Wright played all 90 minutes in goal for the Chargers, making one save while allowing one goal.
The Chargers head back on the road Wednesday, September 30, traveling to Jefferson City, Tennessee, to face Carson-Newman at 3 p.m.
