A student-athlete shall not represent UAH in intercollegiate athletics competitions unless the student-athlete:

Has been admitted as a regularly matriculated, degree-seeking student in accordance with the regular, published entrance requirements of the institution.Â

Is in good academic standing as determined by the Registrar, using standards set by the faculty, and applied to all students, and;

Is enrolled in a least a minimum full-time (12 hours) program of study (POS) and is making necessary progress toward a baccalaureate or equivalent degree as determined by the regulations of the institution.Â

The university may implement a policy stricter requirements if the student-athlete is admitted along normal admission policies for conditional/probationary admission

Certified for participation as a freshman, transfer student, or continuing student meeting progress toward degree as specified in the NCAA manual

Other departmental restrictions may apply

Implementation of these general eligibility rules shall require strict adherence to the following:

Second semester freshman or transfer students who are in good standing must have a UAH GPA of 1.00 to be eligible for competition. Thereafter, they must meet the 2.0 GPA for all course work taken.

Must pass a minimum of nine credits per semester.Â

Athletes may utilize the UAH Course Repeat Policy on a limited basis.

The student-athlete must satisfactorily complete 24 semester credit hours of degree credit per year, acceptable toward a baccalaureate degree in a designated program at UAH, since the beginning of his/her previous season of competition in that sport; a minimum of 18 of these hours in Fall and Spring, and a minimum of nine (9) each semester.

The student-athlete who transfers to UAH from a four year institution must be admitted as a regular student, having acquired a C average or higher in course work normally transferable to UAH; The student-athlete who transfers from a two year institution must transfer in a 2.0 GPA, except DI student athletes who will need a 2.5 GPA.

The student-athlete must have on file a POS at the completion of his/her second year of residence (transfer student-athletes should complete the POS process prior to the fifth semester), andÂ

Prior to the first day of competition for an athlete’s season(s) of competition, the Faculty Athletics Representative, Registrar, and Director of Athletics shall certify student-athletes’ eligibility to represent UAH in intercollegiate athletics competition. None of these employees shall have the authority to exempt a student-athlete from institutional policies or to extend the determination of eligibility to another academic term.

Complete required NCAA and departmental paperwork and educational sessions.

The NCAA Manual rules and regulations will always take precedent for eligibility.
