Section VII: Camps and Clinics

All UAH sports camps and clinics follow NCAA rules and regulations. All coaches are responsible for adhering to all NCAA rules and regulations for all camp involvement. Summer camp pre-approval forms are available in JumpForward and are required to be turned in for review and approval to and by the compliance office prior to camps, preferably prior to the end of the semester for summer camps and three weeks in advance for other camps. The pre-authorization must be approved prior to printing camp brochures, etc. In addition, the Office of Diversity and Alabama Law mandates the registration of activities that involve minors. All camps and clinics with participation of minor persons are to be reported in advance to the Office of Diversity.

  1. All camps are to be registered with the UAH Office of Diversity according to university rules for minor persons at campus events. Coaches who host camps are to complete the form from the Office of Diversity and send it to them well in advance of the event.

  2. The Office of Diversity will conduct background checks of camp staff as deemed by university procedure.

  3. All camps and clinics, along with promotional brochures and flyers, are to be pre-authorized by the DoAC. There are two forms to complete and turn in ahead of time: an institutionally owned camp or clinic, or a non-institutionally owned camp or clinic. The time frames for authorization are stated above.

  4. The DoAC will approve camps based on NCAA rules and approval by the Office of Diversity.
