UAH Athletics

1.Membership: The UAH NCAA Compliance Committee shall consist of the following personnel if they agree to join: UAH Director of Athletic Compliance; the Registrar; the Director of Admissions; The Director of Financial Aid and/or representative; The Faculty Athletic Representative; The Senior Woman Administrator; and The Director of Athletics.

2.Function: The University Athletic Compliance Committee consists of individuals who are key players in the shared responsibility of compliance, student athlete financial aid, admissions and eligibility certification. The committee's charge is as follows:

1. To review matters related to compliance with NCAA and conference(s) rules and procedures

2. To assist with and recommend appropriate policies and procedures that will assure the monitoring of compliance with NCAA and conference(s) rules and procedures

3. To recommend appropriate remedial or preventive actions to ensure compliance with NCAA and conference(s) policies

4. To report to FAR as needed

5. To fulfill other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the President and/or FAR

The Compliance Committee ensures that commitment to rules compliance is a central element in all personnel matters, wherever university personnel are involved in compliance-related activities. The University of Alabama in Huntsville and its Department of Intercollegiate Athletics are committed to operating within the framework and intent of all NCAA and conference(s) legislation. It is the responsibility of each compliance committee member and appropriate designees to have complete knowledge of NCAA, conference(s) and University regulations that relate to their duties; and accept ultimate responsibility for ensuring their conduct is in compliance with all such regulations. The purpose of the athletic compliance committee is to facilitate and monitor achievement of this goal. All staff members outside of the athletics department with compliance related responsibilities are responsible for comprehending and abiding by the University of Alabama in Huntsville compliance policies and procedures.

Steps to take-

1. The DoAC will call UAH Athletic Compliance meetings together as necessary, and/or at the request of individuals in the department or on the committee

2. The DoAC will try to ensure a meeting before January of a new year

3. The DoAC will take attendance and minutes at the meetings

4. "Teams" of key personnel in committee areas will meet through the year as  necessary, focusing on their area, ie eligibility, financial aid

5. The compliance team meetings will be called by the DoAC or anyone on the committee

6. The compliance committee will assist with the multidivisional review, self study, and other areas and policy determinations as necessary
