Sean Venckus joined UAH as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2013. Previously, Venckus served as Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army from 1999 to 2005. He was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany as well as Ft. Lewis Washington during his six years of service. Venckus proudly served one year with the First Cavalry Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He honorably separated the service in 2005 as a Sergeant.
 
Venckus graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from George Mason in 2009. During his time at George Mason, he interned with the Washington Redskins as well as the Washington Capitals. He has received the Janet Lozar Outstanding Athletic Training student award from 2005-09. Venckus left Northern Virginia for Austin, Texas in 2009 where he began work at Medicine in Motion, working as an Athletic Trainer in support of University of Texas club sports that included soccer, lacrosse and rugby.
 
He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (ATC) as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS).
