Alyssa Suchan joined the Chargers in the Summer of 2025 after spending six seasons at Lander University—five as a player and the 2025 season as the Graduate Assistant Coach for the Bearcats. A standout lacrosse coach and record-breaking NCAA Division II athlete, Suchan is an emerging leader in player development and recruitment. Her career has played a pivotal role in building Lander into a nationally recognized and competitive program.
Before transitioning into coaching, Suchan was the first-ever commitment to Lander’s women’s lacrosse program, serving as a five-year team captain from 2019 to 2024. She helped lead the program from its inception to national ranking status. During her collegiate career, she set multiple program records. Suchan’s individual accolades such as 2024 IWLCA Division II Senior All-Star Game Selection, 9th in Active Career Points in NCAA Division II, two-time Team MVP (2021 & 2023), seven-time Conference Player of the Week, First Team All-Conference (2022–2023), Second Team All-Conference (2024), and Conference Tournament Team (2023 & 2024).
As a Graduate Assistant Coach at Lander, Suchan specialized in offensive tactics, draw unit strategy, recruitment, and social media engagement. During her tenure, she helped mentor six All-Gulf South Conference (GSC) honorees, the 2025 GSC Defensive Player of the Year, three All-South Region players, and one All-American. The team posted a 13–4 record during the 2025 season, with three wins over nationally ranked opponents, nine consecutive weeks in the national rankings, and earned its first-ever NCAA Regional Ranking.
Beyond the collegiate level, Alyssa also coaches high school athletes through Rapids Lacrosse and served as an Instructor of Record for Lander’s LINK 101 course, guiding first-year students in their academic and personal transition to college life.
