Andy Pennington

Andy Pennington joined the UAH men’s basketball program as assistant coach prior to the 2022-23 season.
 
He comes to Huntsville after most recently holding the position of head coach at Sequoyah High School in Madisonville, Tennessee, where he accumulated a career record of 56-59.
 
Pennington previously served as assistant coach at Alcoa High School in Alcoa, Tennessee, with a 90-37 overall record that included a pair of state tournament appearances.
 
He has additional experience guiding squads at the AAU level, including the Tennessee Travelers 15U (Newport, Tenn.), the Bmaze Elite UAA 16U (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Pro One Basketball Club (Huntsville, Ala.).
 
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Pennington played collegiately at Carson-Newman from 1995-97 as well as East Tennessee State from 1992-95.
 
He also had a storied high school career at Madisonville High School in Madisonville, Tennessee, where he is the all-time leading scorer with 2,836 points and finished his career with 374 three-pointers to rank sixth amongst Tennessee varsity players.
 
Pennington and his wife Renee have five children named Blake, Kaylen, Dane, Dax and Demi.
