Ashlee Savona is in her third season as an assistant with the UAH women’s soccer program. She joined the Chargers after spending four seasons as a player at Northwestern State University in Louisiana.
During her time in Huntsville, Savona has helped mentor numerous all-conference and all-region selections.
While at NSU, she played two seasons for current UAH head coach Jimmy Mitchell.
During her playing days, she was honored as an all-Southland Conference performer during her junior and senior seasons, and she led the team in points during her freshman, junior and senior years. She also became the first NSU player to play on any country’s national team as she was named to the Guyana national squad in 2010, and she helped the team qualify for the Women’s Gold Cup – a qualifying tournament for the Women’s World Cup.
Savona also played for the Guyana national team in the group's bid for a spot at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games.
Prior to her time at NSU, she played on the Ontario Provincial Team in 2008 and helped guide the team to the Canadian national championship.
She graduated from Northwestern State with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
