UAH Athletics

Hester Truitt began her journey with the UAH Counseling Center as a graduate intern in 2024. After earning her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Auburn University in May 2025, she returned to the UAH Counseling Center as a staff counselor. In addition to her counseling role, Hester Truitt also serves as the UAH athletic liaison, strengthening support for student-athletes on campus.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an associate’s degree in psychology from Motlow State Community College. Hester Truitt has gained clinical experience in both inpatient psychiatric care and substance use rehabilitation. Through these experiences, Hester Truitt developed a passion for meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they navigate life’s challenges.

As a former junior college softball player, Hester Truitt is especially dedicated to supporting student-athletes. She understands the unique demands of balancing academics, athletics, and personal well-being. She is committed to fostering a welcoming, supportive environment for all students.
