Andrea Lemmond Headshot 2021-22

Andrea Lemmond

Andrea Lemmond is in her 10th season as the head coach of the UAH women's basketball program, coming to Huntsville in 2014 after spending six seasons as an assistant at Samford.

The Chargers have had five all-Gulf South Conference selections along with a CSC Academic All-American during Lemmond's time in Huntsville.

Lemmond has mentored three of UAH's top 10 scorers during her time on the Huntsville bench.

During Lemmond's tenure at Samford – which saw her involved in all aspects of the program including recruiting and practice and in-game coaching – the Bulldogs reached new heights as a program. The team won at least 20 games in four of Lemmond's six seasons, including a school-record 25 victories during the 2010-11 season.

That success led the Bulldogs to postseason achievements, also, as Samford won the SoCon tournament in back-to-back seasons in 2011 and 2012 to reach consecutive NCAA tournaments, giving the Bulldogs three straight national tournament appearances as the team also advanced to the WNIT in 2009 and earned a first-round win over Ole Miss.

Prior to joining the Samford coaching staff, Lemmond spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.

Lemmond graduated from Samford in 2006 after playing four seasons for the Bulldogs, and she was especially strong during her senior season in which the team recorded the program's first-ever 20-win season along with its first appearance in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament semifinals.

In addition to graduating from Samford, Lemmond also earned a master's degree from Auburn University in 2008.

She is married to Graham Lemmond, and the couple has two sons, Jaxon who was born during the 2015-16 season and Riggs who was born in May 2018.
