Mike Tyrrell

Mike Tyrrell joined the UAH men’s lacrosse program as an assistant coach for the inaugural season in the 2015-16 academic year. Prior to coming to Huntsville, Tyrrell was an assistant coach at Tampa, helping the program make its second NCAA tournament appearance. He assisted with the Tampa’s defense which was top 10 in Division II with 8.26 goals per game.

The Calgary, Alberta, native also played collegiately at UT, where he graduated with a bachelor of science in Sport Management. He served as captain and played short stick defense and attack for the Spartans.

Before his arrival at Tampa, he won two Canadian national championships. The first came in 2009 when Tyrrell was a member of the Founder’s Cup championship team with the Calgary Mountaineers box lacrosse team. The second came in 2010 as a part of the Calgary Boykiws team that won the Ross Cup Sr. A Canadian Field Lacrosse Championships.
