Volleyball Set For Rival North Alabama

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team (9-20, 4-8 GSC) welcomes rival North Alabama (21-6, 10-3 GSC) on Tuesday for one of its final two regular season conference matches. The contest is slated for a 7 p.m. start at Spragins Hall.

The Lady Chargers are coming off a 3-1 loss to league-leading West Florida, but have won two of its last three matches. Senior Jessica Ruple continues to lead the squad on the court, topping the team with 327 kills and ranking sixth in the conference with 2.95 kills per game. The UAH offense will be up against a North Alabama defense that leads the GSC in opponent's hitting percentage, allowing teams to just a .149 clip. The Lions are in the midst of a three-match winning streak and are outscoring the opposition 9-3 in those games.

Historically, North Alabama owns a significant 46-13 advantage over the Lady Chargers in the all-time series. UAH will be attempting to snap a 28-match losing streak to the Lions – UAH last won in the series on Nov. 2, 1999 by a score of 3-2.
