UAH Travels To UWF For Thanksgiving Classic

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The No. 2 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team will look to continue its unblemished start this weekend as it plays a pair of games at the West Florida Thanksgiving Class. The Chargers (3-0) will square off against North Georgia at 4 p.m. on Friday before taking on Auburn-Montgomery at the same time on Saturday.

On the season, the Blue and White has used a balanced attack to beat its three opponents by an average of 18 points per contest. Four Chargers are averaging double figures in scoring while three others have scored over seven points per contest.

Leading the way is Jaime Smith who has used a blistering 3-point field goal percentage of 55.6 to average just under 19 points a game, while Zane Campbell's 22-for-28 showing from the field has him averaging right at 16 per contest.

Campbell is also the team's leading rebounder as he has grabbed 22 boards on the year for a 7.3 average.

The reigning Gulf South Conference Player of the Week, Josh Magette already owns an impressive 34 assists on the season to go along with his 14.0 points per game, and Xavier Baldwin has a scoring average of 11.0

North Georgia enters the weekend with a 3-1 mark with its only loss an 85-83 decision to Newberry. Clarence Tillman has been strong on the year for the Saints as he has already tallied 101 points to average over 25 points per contest, and he has averaged 6.5 rebounds per game to rank second on the squad in that category.

Struggling to this point, AUM owns a 2-5 record, and it has lost its last four games. The team is paced by Marques Brooks who sits on top of the offensive ledger with a scoring average of 11.3.
