HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team dropped its final Gulf South Conference regular season contest of the season to Christian Brothers, 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-18), on Saturday afternoon at Spragins Hall. The loss drops UAH to 9-23 overall and 4-10 in the conference as the Lady Bucs improve to 24-9 on the year and 10-4 in league play.
Senior
Kaeli McCaghren led the squad with 10 digs on the day, while junior
Kelly Wilson handed out 23 assists in the match.
The Lady Chargers looked to be containing Christian Brothers in the first set of play, allowing them to just a .093 hitting percentage. However, UAH was only able to post a .056 clip itself and eventually fell 25-23.
In the second game, Christian Brothers jumped out to a 6-0 lead and would never let UAH get closer than four points for the remainder of the set. The Lady Chargers fell 25-17 to go down 2-0 heading into the third set.
UAH put up a battle in the early half of the third set, but with the score 11-9 in the Lady Bucs favor, Christian Brothers went on a 10-3 run to extend its lead to 21-12 to all but put away the match. The Lady Chargers scored six of the final nine points but fell 25-18 in the match-clincher.
The Lady Chargers will wrap up its regular season with “Senior Night” on Nov. 8 against Alabama A&M at 7 p.m. at Spragins Hall.
