HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team (9-23) will wrap-up its regular season with Senior Night on Tuesday when the Lady Chargers take on Alabama A&M (11-17) at Spragins Hall. The non-conference match is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
The Lady Chargers will honor four seniors on Monday for their contributions to the UAH volleyball team over their career. The seniors are
Carrie Brown,
Kaeli McCaghren,
Jessica Ruple and
Danyelle Smith.
A duo of seniors in Ruple and McCaghren will lead the UAH squad into the last match of the year. Ruple leads the Lady Chargers with 355 kills and ranks second on the team with 341 digs, while McCaghren tops the squad with 408 digs this season.
UAH is currently enduring a four-match losing streak and will be looking to end the regular season with a win before prepping for its first Gulf South Conference Tournament appearance since 2005.
Historically, the Lady Chargers own a 14-6 advantage over the Lady Bulldogs in the all-time series, including victories in nine of the last 10 meetings. Alabama A&M claimed the most recent contest between the two schools in 2009, 3-2.
Alabama A&M has won seven of its last 10 matches this season, including three straight by a combined score of 9-1. The Lady Bulldogs are led by senior Karensa Beckford and junior Clairissa Moore who have posted 368 and 323 kills on the year, respectively.
