HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team returns to action Monday as the Lady Chargers play host to Truett-McConnell in a non-conference matchup. Tip-off between the two schools, meeting for the first time in school history, is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Spragins Hall.
UAH is off to its best start since the 2001-02 season, putting together a record of 4-1. TMC, however, is struggling early in the season, coming to Huntsville with just a 1-8 record.
The Bears lone victory came in the second game of the year against Southeastern (Fla.), 65-49. Since that win, TMC has dropped seven straight by an average score of 83-50.
In the Lady Chargers' last time out, the squad took down Montevallo, 77-67, to claim its 30th victory over the Falcons. Sophomore
Jasmine Hammon tallied her second straight double-double, and third in her last four games, with 26 points and 10 rebounds which earned her GSC Player of the Week honors.
Additionally, sophomore
Jordan Smith will be looking to score in double digits for her sixth consecutive contest as she has done in each game thus far in the year. TMC is led by Alisha Gentry who is averaging 18 points per contest.
