Tough Luck For Lady Chargers On Tournament's Final Day

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The UAH Lady Chargers had their hands full on the final day of the Country Inn & Suites Invitational facing a pair of one-loss teams in Christian Brothers and Arkansas Tech. The result was two losses to end the weekend as CBU swept UAH 25-22, 26-24, 25-21 and ATU outspiked the Lady Chargers 25-18, 25-14, 25-27, 25-22. UAH went 2-3 for the weekend and slipped to 3-7 with Saturday's losses.

In the match versus Christian Brothers, Angela Thurmond had 14 kills to lead the way. She only had three errors in 24 attempts. Jessica Ruple added 10 kills and 12 digs. Kelly Wilson also had a double-double tallying 40 assists and 10 digs.

Kelsey Williams was the leader in the match against Arkansas Tech finishing with 14 kills and six blocks. Carrie Brown added 10 kills, while Ruple had nine kills to go with 15 more digs. Wilson contributed 38 assists and Kaeli McCaghren finished with 16 digs.

The Lady Chargers will be on the road for their next two matches, traveling south to Montevallo to play Augusta State and Montevallo in a try-match on Sept. 17.
