Chargers Set To Host Montevallo

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Continuing its six-game homestand, the UAH men's soccer team will welcome Montevallo to Charger Field on Wednesday. Kick-off between the Chargers (2-2-0) and the Falcons (3-0-1) is slated for 4:30 p.m.

The Chargers – who were ranked 10th in the South Region in the latest NSCAA Continental Tire Rankings – have alternated wins and losses in the season's first four games, most recently shutting out Christian Brothers 2-0 last week before falling 4-2 to Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday.

Scoring in each of UAH's previous three games, Felix Hjalmarsson – who scored the game-winner against CBU – was named the most recent Gulf South Conference Player of the Week for his torrid play of late. He sits second on the team in scoring with three goals and an assist for seven points.

Freshman Kyle Simmons continues to pace UAH as he has tallied four goals on the year.

Montevallo holds a 10-8 advantage in the all-time series. UAH started the series off by winning the first seven games between the two programs before Montevallo ripped off 10 straight victories. The Blue and White ended that long stretch in 2009 with a 2-1 triumph.

A trio of Falcons sit atop their scoring ledger as Ricky Davey, Shane Howard, and Giuliano Frano each have scored twice on the season. Davey and Howard both have also recorded an assist to tie for the lead in points with five.

Registering all the time in goal for Wednesday's visitors, Brendan Ledgeway enters the day with 17 saves and four goals allowed in the squad's four games.
