CLEVELAND, MISS. - The UAH Lady Chargers ran into a buzzsaw on Tuesday night, facing the No. 2 team in NAIA, Lee University. The Flames lived up to their ranking, soundly beating the Lady Chargers 25-18, 25-11, 25-14. UAH slipped to 1-4 heading into this weekend's Country Inn & Suites Tournament at Spragins Hall. The Lady Chargers were held to only 26 kills in the match. Senior
Jessica Ruple led with eight kills and nine digs.
Kelsey Williams and
Stacey Sargent each finished with five kills, while
Kelly Wilson tallied 10 assists.
The Lady Chargers will open the Country Inn & Suites Tournament on Thursday at 5 p.m. versus Henderson State. The tournament continues on Friday and Saturday with matches scheduled for 9 and 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. On Friday, UAH will face the University of the District of Columbia at 11 a.m., then Harding University at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the Chargers play Christian Brothers at 11 a.m. and Arkansas Tech at 3 p.m.
