HUNTSVILLE, AL - The UAH Lady Chargers rebounded from a non-conference loss to Lee University on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Henderson State in the opening match of the 2011 Country Inn & Suites Tournament at Spragins Hall. After dropping the first set 25-19, the Lady Chargers came back to sweep the final three sets 25-17, 25-18, 25-22.
Stacey Sargent led the way for UAH with 15 kills and 12 digs. Senior
Jessica Ruple added 14 kills, while
Kelly Wilson finished with 46 assists and 11 digs and
Shelby League tallied 12 digs.
The Lady Chargers were solid on offense, hitting .241 for the match and outhitting HSU 59 kills to 37.
The tournament continues on Friday with the Lady Chargers taking on the University of the District of Columbia at 11 a.m. and Harding University at 3 p.m.
