HUNTSVILLE, AL - The UAH Lady Chargers nearly pulled off a comeback win against Harding in the final match of Day Two of the Country Inn and Suites Tournament on Friday. However, the Lady Bisons outlasted the hard-charging home team 3-2.

In a see-saw struggle, the two teams exchanged wins and losses. Harding cruised in the first set 25-17, but the Lady Chargers came back to win set two 25-18. It was the Lady Bisons rolling 25-15 in the third set and again UAH answering in the fourth set 25-18 to force a fifth set. In the deciding set, Harding jumped out to a 9-1 lead and never looked back, winning 15-5.

Jessica Ruple paced the Lady Chargers with 15 kills and 17 digs. Kelsey Williams added 13 kills and Angela Thurmond tallied 12. Kelly Wilson contributed 46 assists and 10 digs, while Kaeli McCaghren had 12 digs and Shelby League finished with 11.

Earlier on Friday, the Lady Chargers (3-5) swept the University of the District of Columbia 25-12, 26-24, 25-15. Ruple had 12 kills to lead the way. Wilson added 16 assists.

The Lady Chargers cap the weekend on Saturday with matches against Christian Brothers (11 a.m.) and Arkansas Tech (3 p.m.)
