LIVE STATS | LISTEN | UAH NOTES

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team (14-3, 5-1 GSC) returns to action this weekend, traveling to Florence, Ala., on Saturday to face Gulf South Conference-rival North Alabama (11-7, 2-4 GSC). Tipoff at Flowers Hall is scheduled for 1 p.m. CST.

After nearly a full week off from competition, the Lady Chargers will be looking for just their second victory over UNA in the previous 10 meetings between the two schools. UAH will bring its nationally-ranked scoring offense (No. 5) and turnover margin (No. 4) into the weekend to challenge the 67th-best scoring defense in the country as the Lady Chargers search for its first conference road victory of the season.

In its last outing, UAH matched the best start to a home record in program history (9-0) with a 76-58 victory over Christian Brothers on Sunday, Jan. 22. Sophomore Jasmine Hammon continued to lead the Lady Chargers with her fifth double-double of the year and 10th of her career with a game-high 27 points and 10 rebounds. In addition, junior Bailee Robinson and sophomore Jordan Smith added 15 and 14 points, respectively.

The Lady Lions enter Saturday's contest after dropping four of its last seven games with the three losses coming to conference foes. UNA is led by a trio of players scoring in double digits with Jasmine Horne pacing the trio with 11.9 points per game while Nichelle Fillmore and Dana Jackson are adding 10.7 and 10.0 points per game each. Fillmore is also leading the squad on the glass, bringing down 6.8 rebounds per game.

UNA owns a significant advantage in the all-time series, claiming 47 of the 66 meetings between the two schools, and will have won nine of the last 10 contests if the Lady Lions defeat the Lady Chargers on Saturday. A UAH victory would snap a six-game losing streak to UNA, in addition to a six-year (six games) losing streak to UNA when the game is played in Florence.
