Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of 23rd-ranked West Florida Sunday afternoon at Spragins Hall.
UAH (10-12, 4-6 GSC) put up a strong effort, but in the end West Florida (12-6, 8-1 GSC) showed their strength and kept themselves in first place on top the Gulf South Conference.
The Lady Chargers fell behind early in the first and third set and put themselves into insurmountable holes. UAH would fight hard each set, but the No. 23-ranked team in the country was ultimately too much in the end.
UAH was led by
Angela Thurmond and
Haley Snyder who finished with eight and seven kills respectively.
Kelsey Williams also added five kills for the Lady Chargers.
Haley Shackelford led the way for West Florida, finishing with a game-high 15 kills.
The Lady Chargers now travel to Bolivar, Missouri, to take on Nebraska-Kearney and Southwest Baptist on Friday, Octobe 19, as they step outside of GSC play.
