Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Kel Markert made five strong saves in his final game on the Charger Park pitch, but the University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team fell on Thursday afternoon by a 2-0 score to visiting Union. The Chargers drop to 1-12 (0-9 Gulf South Conference) with the setback while Union improves to 5-3-4 (4-2-3 GSC).

The senior keeper was tested immediately, having to make a tough stop just over two minutes into the contest, and Union continued the pressure and was able to tally in the 11th minute. The Bulldogs threatened three more times in the period but Markert turned those three tries to keep the game at 1-0 at the half.
Union struck again in the 58th minute, receiving help from the crossbar as the attempt clanked off the iron and dropped down to produce the 2-0 final.
The visitors held a 12-2 advantage in shots on the afternoon, but the Chargers owned a 4-3 advantage in corners.
The Blue and White will now hit the road to complete the season with the three-game swing starting on Monday, Oct. 22 at Shorter.
