Box Score LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Lady Chargers lost 3-1 on Saturday afternoon to West Alabama, as they now fall to 10-15 overall and 4-7 in the Gulf South Conference this season.
UAH dropped the first set 25-19, but bounced back to win the second set and tie the match at 1-1. The Lady Chargers dominated the second set en route to a 25-15 victory, but the host Tigers (11-15, 3-10 GSC) took the next two to earn the home conference victory.
Both teams came in to the match having struggled of late, both in the GSC and out of conference. West Alabama snaps a three-game losing streak and picked up just their second win in their past 13 games.
For UAH, they have now lost four matches in a row and eight of nine matches overall.
The Lady Chargers were led by
Kelsey Williams, who recorded a team-high 14 kills, including an ace and a block.
Haley Snyder recorded 12 kills, while
Erin Keeney added seven of her own.
Senior
Kelly Wilson picked up 31 assists in the contest and
Kennedie Lariscy finished with 10 digs.
The Tigers were led by Tazra Pitts who finished with 12 kills and Carly Wehling who notched eight service aces.
The Lady Chargers return home on Tuesday, October 30, for their annual Halloween and Cancer Awareness game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink or dress up in their best Halloween costume.
There will be a drawing for a television for those who participate in the festivities. Donations will also be accepted as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness cause.
