Box Score 2 MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team (9-10) suffered a pair of losses on Saturday, falling to both USC-Aiken and Montevallo.
UAH fell to the USC-Aiken Pacers in a five-set match (17-25, 25-20, 25-18, 27-25, 15-10). The Pacers offense, led by Shannon Byers, set commanding double-digit kill leads that caused problems for UAH. The Lady Chargers won a crucial fourth match, but fell short in the fifth and final match.
Trouble continued as Montevallo closed a four-set match (22-25, 18-25, 25-21, 17-25) and sent the Lady Chargers home 0-2 on the day.
UAH had won four of their past five before losing to Shorter on Thursday. They have now followed that hot streak with three straight losses.
USC-Aiken (15-5) was the best team on the day, winning both of their matches. UAH played the Pacers close to a five-set defeat in the first game of the day.
The Lady Chargers will travel to Carrollton, Georgia, to face West Georgia next Tuesday, October 9.
