Lady Chargers Fall on the Road to Alabama A&M

Box Score NORMAL, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team fell on the road Tuesday night, 3-0 at the hands of Alabama A&M.

The Lady Chargers (5-4) were unable to get anything going against the cross-town rival, losing to the host Bulldogs in straight sets.

The first set belonged entirely to Division I-foe Alabama A&M (1-11), who jolted out a 22-10 lead and the eventual 25-16 win.

UAH played the second set much more competitively, falling in the final points, 25-22. The set was all knotted up at 22 apiece, but A&M took the final three points as Clairissa Moore killed a pair for two of the final three points.

After taking the first two points in what would turn out to be the third and final set, UAH couldn't sustain that momentum and allowed the Bulldogs to run away with the 25-14 win and match victory.

GSC-Player of the Week Angela Thurmond led the way offensively with nine kills and a block, while Stacey Sargent had six kills and pair of aces.

UAH will look to bounce back as they prepare to start their conference slate this coming weekend. The Lady Chargers will hit the road as they take on Valdosta State on Friday and West Florida on Saturday.

First serve from Valdosta, Georgia, is scheduled for 6:00 p.m
