LIVE STATS | LIVE AUDIO | LIVE VIDEO
VALDOSTA, Ga. –
Looking to remain perfect in the Gulf South Conference, the University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team is prepared to take on Valdosta State in a conference showdown at 5 p.m. CST at The Complex on Thursday. The Lady Chargers enter the game at 5-7 (2-0 GSC), while VSU owns a mark of 7-3 (0-2 GSC).

UAH is enduring a tough stretch, having played five consecutive games away from Spragins Hall and dropping each – three of which were decided by five points or less. Jasmine Hammon continues to pace the squad in scoring with an average production of 18.2 points per game.

Prior to spending most of December on the road, the Lady Chargers opened up conference play with a pair of wins as they defeated West Georgia and West Alabama. The team's two leading scorers were important to the UAH cause in both as Hammon scored 27 against UWG while Jordan Smith poured in 24 against the Tigers.

A year ago, the Lady Chargers split with Valdosta State as the home floor was defended in both contests. In the 65-55 setback in Valdosta, the team was limited to a field goal percentage of 31.3 percent, but Hammon notched a double-double in the affair as she scored 15 while grabbing 11 rebounds including five on the offensive glass.

Valdosta State had won three consecutive games before falling 60-50 at Albany State on Dec. 29. The Lady Blazers are 0-2 in conference play as they fell on the road 69-51 to Union and 62-54 at North Alabama on the league's first weekend of play.

For the season, the Lady Chargers are shooting at a 35.8 percent clip, while VSU is hitting 37.3 of its shots. UAH does, however, feature the GSC's top shooter in Natalie Kelley who is connecting on 60.9 percent of her attempts.

Live stats for the contest will be available.
