HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –
Returning home for the first time since Dec. 1, the University of Alabama in Huntsville women's basketball team is set to continue Gulf South Conference play when it welcomes Christian Brothers to Kelly Court at Spragins Hall for a 5:30 p.m. contest on Thursday evening. The Lady Chargers own a mark of 6-8 (3-1 GSC), while the Lady Bucs come to town at 3-8 (0-3 GSC).

The Lady Chargers technically sit in a tie for second in the league, but Union – the team that shares the position with UAH – is not eligible for postseason play as it continues its transition to full membership in the GSC.

The squad has played seven consecutive games away from the Rocket City and will look to build upon its perfect 4-0 mark at home on Thursday. If the team is to do so, it will have to continue to receive strong play from Jasmine Hammon who ranks second in the league with a scoring average of 17.9 points.

In the four games at Spragins Hall, Hammon and teammate Jordan Smith have been impressive, averaging 19.5 and 18.3 points per contest, respectively, and it was that duo that led the Lady Chargers in their road win at West Florida their last time out as Hammon scored 20 and grabbed seven rebounds and Smith poured in 18 while dishing out four assists.

A season ago the Lady Chargers swept the season series from Christian Brothers to make the all-time series lean narrowly towards Thursday's visitors at 9-8. In Huntsville last year, UAH was a 76-58 winner as Hammon recorded a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Bucs go into the game on a four-game slide, falling at Ouachita Baptist by a 71-62 score on Monday afternoon in their most recent contest. Breanna Ridgell paces the team with 15.6 points per game while also picking up a team-best 28 steals.
