Lady Chargers Suffer 3-0 Setback at Lee

Box Score CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback on Friday night, falling to Lee University on the road.

The Lady Chargers fell 25-21, 25-22 and 25-23 to the Flames, dropping their third-straight GSC match.

With a chance late in the first set trailing 23-21 after an Alexis Deal kill, Lee came through with back-to-back kills to take the opening set.

UAH had a chance to tie up the match at 1-1 late in the second set, as the two teams were locked up at 22-22. A service error and a pair of kills gave Lee the set victory and a 2-0 lead overall.

A similar story was the case for the Lady Chargers in the third set, as they only trailed by a point at 23-22. Again, the Flames would make defensive plays late and come through with the needed kills.

It was Olivia Bauman who led the UAH effort with 14 kills, while Haley Snyder notched six. Ashton Baker picked up yet another double-double with 24 assists and 12 digs.

UAH hit just .130 and Lee was led by Paula Martins who tallied a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs.

The Lady Chargers return home for their annual Pink Night game on Tues., Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and will be able to purchase T-shirts with the money being donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.
