Box Score Jackson, Tenn. – Despite having an early one-set lead, the UAH volleyball team suffered a 3-2 setback to Union Tuesday night. The loss puts UAH at 8-16 (5-7 GSC) on the season while Union improves to 7-16 (3-8 GSC)
Sophomore
Olivia Bauman paced the Chargers with 18 kills while
Kendall Knisley notched a career-high 14 kills on the evening.
Stacey Sargent also established a new career-high in digs with 31 while
Ashton Baker recorded her 13th double-double of the season with a team-high 37 assists to go along with 18 digs.
Neither team would go up by more than four in the first set as both teams combined for 13 ties and four lead changes.
Trailing 24-23, the Lady Chargers scored the final three points to claim the first set 26-24.
Rachel Brugman and
Haley Snyder both contributed with a kill following an attack error by Union.
Union used a 16-4 run while tied 9-9 to take the second set 25-13. In the following set, the Lady Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead in the match while scoring the final five points to capture the third set 25-20.
With Union ahead 10-9, Bauman tallied three-straight kills to take a two-point lead 12-10.UAH never trailed in the rest of the fourth set as the Lady Chargers tied the contest at two sets apiece, 25-21.
Tied 10-10, Union scored five of the final six points to capture the fifth set and the match.
Mallory Baker led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 kills and Lydia Wright notched a game-high 46 assists. Union also had four other players tally nine or more kills as well.
UAH will return to action when they host Kentucky State Saturday morning at 11 a.m. before facing off against Kentucky State at 2 p.m. at Spragins Hall
