Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Snapping its three-game winning streak, The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team fell 3-0 to 20th-ranked West Florida on Saturday afternoon at Spragins Hall.
The Lady Chargers (6-8, 3-3 GSC) fell 25-18, 25-19 and 25-15 to the Argonauts (11-4, 6-1 GSC) in their fourth and final game of a four-game homestand.
West Florida hit an overpowering .389 against UAH, while the Lady Chargers finished with a .105.
A pair of 10-kill efforts led the Lady Chargers, as
Kendall Knisley and
Olivia Bauman finished in double-figures.
Shelby Traff tied her career-high in kills with four, a number she set last night against West Alabama.
In all three sets, UAH fell behind early and was unable to climb back in the set. A score of 12-9 midway through the first period was the tightest the Lady Chargers would get to the nationally-ranked Argonauts.
Ashton Baker was the only player to record double figures in both digs and assists, notching 11 and 25 respectively.
West Florida was led by Autumn Duyn with 12 kills and eight digs, along with Lindsay Homme who tallied 11 kills.
UAH will hit the road for the first time in over two weeks, when they visit Shorter University on Oct. 8 for a 6 p.m. CT start.
