About the Lady Chargers

HOME OPENER: The Lady Chargers will start the 2013-14 season on Tuesday inside the friendly confines of Spragins Hall – a building in which they will play the vast majority of their games during the first two months of the season. UAH will take only two road trips during November and December as the team travels to Montevallo on Saturday and visits Troy on Nov. 26. The seven other games for the Lady Chargers will all be in Huntsville.

DYNAMIC DUO: Tuesday's contest will mark the start of the senior campaign for Jasmine Hammon and Jordan Smith. The two seniors have had tremendous UAH careers as the pair ranks No. 1 and 2 in scoring all-time at UAH. Hammon was a unanimous Preseason All-GSC selection, while Smith was named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2013 Gulf South Conference Championships after guiding the Lady Chargers to their first-ever tournament championship.

FAMILIAR FACES: Of UAH's 12 players, 11 of them are returnees as the team only has one newcomer this season in the form of junior college transfer Jasmyne Reeves who was strong on the boards at Gadsden State, averaging more than five per contest. Of the 11 who are coming back, seven recorded at least 300 minutes of playing time a season ago.

About the Opponent

THE LADY TIGERS: Hiwassee enters the game having played two contests this season – falling 76-49 to Fisk and 105-57 to Berea. The Lady Tigers are under the direction of first-year head coach Jack Brownfield.
