About the Lady Chargers

LIGHTING UP THE SCOREBOARD: In the first two games of the season, the Lady Chargers have averaged a staggering 119 points per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. To put UAH's hot start into more perspective, every player for UAH has scored this season. Four players are averaging double figures in points per game while the duo of Jordan Smith and Jasmine Hammon are averaging 23 and 21.5, respectively, to lead the team in scoring.

CRASHING THE BOARDS: To say the Lady Chargers have held an advantage over their first two opponents on the boards would be an understatement. UAH owns a plus-24 rebounding margin after their first two games while averaging 65 rebounds per game. Halle Jarnagin is posting a team-high nine rebounds per game, including a game-high 11 boards in the season opener against Hiwassee – the seventh time in her career that she has reached 10 or more rebounds.  Fellow teammate Juanice Newton is second on the team along with Jasmine Hammon as both are averaging 8.5 boards a game. Newton also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds Saturday against Montevallo.

SUFFOCATING DEFENSE: The Lady Chargers are forcing their opponents into 36.5 turnovers per game while holding opponents to 31.4 percent shooting. UAH is also translating their defense into offense as the Lady Chargers have scored 96 points off of turnovers in the first two games.
