UAH IN THE GSC TOURNAMENT – UAH will face Christian Brothers Friday as the fifth seed in the opening round of the GSC Tournament in Pensacola, Fla. The Lady Chargers are 22-18 overall in 14 tournament appearances while advancing to the Championship game twice in 1995 and 1997. Last season, the Lady Chargers advanced to the semifinals with a five-set victory over West Georgia in the opening round.

BRUGMAN COMING ON STRONG: Freshman Rachel Brugman had her best two-game stretch in her young career as a Lady Charger this past week. The Chandler, Ariz.., native averaged 15.5 kills in the last two games of the season. She is also leading the team with .272 hitting percentage, which is good enough for seventh in the GSC.

SECOND TEAM ALL-GSC:Â Teammates Olivia Bauman and Stacey Sargent were recently named All-GSC Second Team earlier this week. Bauman finished fourth in the conference with 356 kills while averaging 3.18 kills per set. The Killen, Ala., native has amassed double-digit kills in eight of the team's 12 wins. Sargent was named All-Conference after leading the team with 503 digs during the regular season. She also finished third in the conference in digs and digs per set at 4.23.Â
CBU: The Lady Bucs finished the season with an overall record of 14-18 while finishing .500 in the GSC with a record of 9-9. CBU has lost three out of their last five games but recently defeated Valdosta State in five sets in their season finale.

Alexis Gillis leads the GSC and the Lady Bucs with 425 kills while averaging 3.83 kills per set as fellow teammate Brinsley Cooper has a team-best .348 hitting percentage. Brittney Toney amassed 301 digs in the regular season to lead CBU.Â
The Lady Chargers own a 24-17 record against the Lady Bucs in the all-time series as both teams won on their home courts in four sets this season. UAH is also 2-1 in the GSC Tournament against CBU and this will be the second straight year these teams will square off in the tournament. CBU defeated UAH in four sets in the semifinals last season.Â
