About the Lady Chargers
STILL ON TOP: The terrific pair of Jordan Smith and Jasmine Hammon continue to lead the Gulf South Conference in scoring after both breached the 20-point mark against West Alabama last weekend. Smith – who also sits sixth in the country – leads the conference with 23.9 points per contest, while the reigning GSC Player of the Week Hammon is in second with 19.7 – more than three points per game higher than the next player in the rankings.
Â
WINNING COMFORTABLY: The Lady Chargers own the highest margin of victory in the GSC at 44.9 points per game by an average score of 109.4 to 64.6. UAH's narrowest win came in the GSC opener – a 24-point, 84-60 win over West Alabama.
Â
CRASHING THE GLASS: Through the first seven games of the season, the Lady Chargers are leading the GSC with an average of 55.6 rebounds per game while Juanice Newton leads the team with 7.6 rebounds per contest. UAH has dominated their opponents on the board as well as the team is outrebounding opposing teams by a whopping 40.3 boards a game.
Â
GETTING SHOTS UP: Along with the Chargers averaging 109.4 points per game, the team has averaged 84 shot attempts per game while making an average of 36.3 of their shot attempts.
Â
RARE AIR: The Lady Chargers will attempt to join just three teams in program history that have reached the 7-1 mark. In 2011-12 UAH started at that mark, while the 1988-89 and 1990-91 teams both were able to start 8-1.

LEADING THE LADY BUCS: Breanna Ridgell leads Christian Brothers with 16.6 points per contest, and that mark has her third behind the UAH duo of
Jordan Smith and
Jasmine Hammon. Taylor Pugh is grabbing a team-high 5.9 rebounds a game and Ashley Schaefer is leading the team in assists at 3.4 per game.
DELTA STATE
FAST START: The Lady Statesmen head into Saturday ranked No. 11 in the nation, and will be the first ranked opponent the Lady Chargers have played this season. DSU is currently riding a five-game win streak, and its only loss came against Lynn 65-63 on a neutral floor earlier in the season.
DELTA'S DEFENSE: DSU may be the best defense UAH has seen this season thus far as the Lady Statesmen have allowed only 51.3 points per game this season. The Lady Statesmen are also limiting their opponents to just under 30 percent shooting as well, which is first in the GSC. The most points DSU has given up this season was 65 in the setback to Lynn.
LADY STATESMEN'S LEADERS: Four different players average double figures in scoring as Chelsey Rhodes leads DSU with 14.3 points per game. Leading Delta State with 8.9 rebounds per contest is GSC leader Seneca Walton, while Shanea Govan is dishing out a team-high 5.3 assists per game which also tops the GSC.
Series History
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS: The Lady Chargers won both contests a season ago to tilt the all-time series towards UAH at 10-9. In the Rocket City, the Lady Chargers were 79-60 winners as Jasmine Hammon scored 28 and Halle Jarnagin notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.
Â
DELTA STATE: With a 12-4 all-time record against UAH, the Lady Statesmen lead the all-time series between the two programs.
