Box Score CARROLLTON, Ga. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to West Georgia on Saturday afternoon, giving the team their fourth-straight defeat of the season.
UAH (3-7, 0-2 GSC) was looking to earn a split in their first two conference games of the season, but the host Wolves (7-2, 2-0 GSC) instead won their second-consecutive GSC match at home.
It was a similar story as Friday night, when the Lady Chargers lost 3-1 at Valdosta State. Again,
Haley Snyder led the squad in kills with 17, with
Olivia Bauman finishing second with 15 of her own.
West Georgia took the opening set 25-15, but UAH would respond in the second with a 27-25 victory. That would be the best set UAH would play, as the Wolves would take the next two sets, 25-20 and 25-16.
Bauman had a couple of big kills late in the second set and the team used a lift call on West Georgia to win their only set of the day.
Snyder recorded a much better hitting percentage than she did a night ago, logging a .357.
Ashton Baker tallied seven kills, giving her a new season-high, while also adding 40 assists.
The Blue and White have now lost four straight matches and begin the conference season with an 0-2 record.
The team will look to bounce back when they play their GSC home-opener on Tuesday, Sep. 24, against Union at Spragins Hall.
