About the Lady Chargers

GAME NOTES
•After two consecutive home games, the Lady Chargers will now hit the road for four straight including Thursday's 6 p.m. contest at Union and Saturday's showdown at rival North Alabama at 1 p.m.
•UAH owns a 2-3 mark away from Spragins Hall on the season including a 1-2 mark in conference play with the victory an 80-72 win at Shorter on Jan. 9.
•The duo of Jordan Smith and Jasmine Hammon continue to pace the league in scoring with 23.7 and 19.3 points per game. CBU's Brianna Ridgell is the next best scorer with 16.4 points per game.
•The two also rank high nationally with Smith fifth in the country and Hammon ranked 29th.
•With two of the nation's top scorers, the Lady Chargers rank second in the country in scoring with 94.6 points per game. Glenville State is first with a scoring average of 103.3.
•Smith also ranks sixth in the country with 3.3 3-point field goals per game, helping the Lady Chargers rank fourth in Division II as a team in 3-pointers per contest with 9.0.
•UAH ranks 18th in the country and first in the conference with a rebounding margin of 8.1 thanks to a terrific rebounding average of 42.2 per contest. The Lady Chargers are 6-1 when recording 50 or more rebounds.
•Juanice Newton leads UAH on the glass with 8.9 rebounds per contest. She has seven games in which she has recorded 10 or more rebounds.

About the Opponents

UNION
•Union fell in its last contest, dropping a 57-51 decision at Delta State. Prior to that setback, Union had won two straight with a win at home against Valdosta State and a road triumph at Christian Brothers.
•Three score in double figures for Union led by Amy Philamlee's 15.7 points per game with Astrid Huttemann averaging 10.8 and LaTesa McLaughlin averaging 10.7.
•The team plays terrific defense, limiting its opposition to just 54.6 points per game and a field goal percentage of 39.0 percent.

NORTH ALABAMA
•The Lions have lost three straight starting with a 67-52 setback to West Florida in Florence.
•Three players are averaging double figures for UNA with Lauren Faris pacing the team with 16.1 points per contest. Averaging 13.9 points per contest is Jennifer Towne, and Nichelle Fillmore is scoring 13.0 a night.
•UNA is shooting just 38.0 percent, but it is also holding its opposition to a field goal percentage of 38.9.

Series History

UNION
•Meeting as GSC opponents for the first time last season, Union took both meetings with an 80-67 win in Jackson and a 75-70 victory in Huntsville and now leads the all-time series 4-0.
•Last year in Jackson, UAH fell 80-67 as Jasmine Hammon scored a team-best 22 points.

NORTH ALABAMA
•Saturday's meeting will be the 72nd all-time between the two program as UNA holds a 50-21 advantage against the Lady Chargers.
•UNA swept the series last year, winning 81-69 in Huntsville and 60-48 in Florence. In the road game for UAH, Jasmine Hammon became the program's all-time leading scorer as she scored a team-best 17 points.
