MOBILE, Ala. | The No. 24 University of Alabama in Huntsville men's soccer team travelled to Spring Hill on Sunday, falling 3-2 in Gulf South Conference action. The Chargers slip to 11-3-0 (6-2-0 GSC) with the setback, while Spring Hill improves to 3-8-0 (2-4-0 GSC).

The hosts held a 2-0 advantage at the break as Mario Escalante scored on a penalty kick in the 26th before Dinar Garrett scored in the 36th, but the Chargers would trim the deficit to just one in the 70th minute when a header from
Anthony Benitez went in to make it 2-1 while giving Benitez his team-best sixth goal of the season.

Bailey Oliver picked up the assist on the goal, providing the freshman from Huntsville his first collegiate point.

Spring Hill then appeared to ice the contest in the 82nd minute with a score from Dylan Gardner to make it 3-1, but
Ryo Suzuki pulled the Chargers back within one in the 86th with his second of the season.

The Suzuki goal, however, would be the final shot for either team in the contest.

UAH was outshot by Spring Hill on the day by a 13-8 margin, but shots on goal were even at 4-4. The Badgers also held an advantage in corners by an 8-4 margin.

The Chargers will look to bounce back from the setback when they step out of conference play with a Friday night visit to Montevallo. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
