FRESHMAN HONORED: Anna Claire Johnson was tabbed GSC Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week, after totaling a team-high 46 kills in non-conference wins over Trevecca Nazarene, Southeastern Oklahoma, Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist. She notched back-to-back games of 16 kills against Southeastern Oklahoma and Henderson State. The Birmingham, Alabama native also added 32 digs and four blocks to the UAH defense, completing a double-double with 16 kills and 12 digs against Southeastern Oklahoma.
ON THE ATTACK: The Chargers rank second overall in the GSC in hitting percentage at .208. Sophomore
Rachel Brugman sits at sixth in the conference with a .289 swinging percentage followed by freshman
Jordan Morrison at ninth in the GSC with a .262 hitting percentage. Johnson leads the Chargers with total kills (233) and kills per set (2.91).
DEFENSIVE POSITION: The UAH defense has been effective this season, breaking into the top four in digs per set with an average of 14.63. Junior
Kennedie Lariscy tops the Chargers defense with 301 digs and an average of 3.81 digs per set. UAH is rated fifth in the conference in blocks with 143 total blocks this season. Snyder leads the squad with a fourth-place standing at 63 blocks in the 2014 campaign.
RIVALRY RENEWED: UAH owns a 16-50 all-time series record against UNA. The Chargers and Tigers matched up earlier this season, with North Alabama coming out on top in Florence in three sets. Johnson led the UAH offense with eight kills, while Lariscy had a team-high 11 digs in the match.
