HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to visiting West Georgia on Friday night at Charger Park. The conference setback moves UAH to 5-9-0 (4-6-0 GSC), while the Wolves improve to 3-11-2 (3-6-0 GSC).

Isabel Shanteau opened the scoring in the contest, picking up her second goal of the season out of a scrum in front in the 25th minute, and
Khadijah Jannah was awarded the assist on the play.

The 1-0 lead would hold through halftime until West Georgia was able to level the contest on a Taylor North goal in the 50th minute, and the Wolves then went in front when Katie Phillips was able to beat UAH keeper
Larae Breaux before firing it in from about three yards out to make it 2-1 in the 70th minute of the contest.

Breaux was once again terrific in net for the Chargers, recording 10 saves to give her 30 saves over the team's last three games.

For the contest, UAH held an 18-17 advantage in shots on the night, and the Chargers took four corners compared to three for West Georgia.

Sydnie Fiocca led UAH with three shots on goal, while both Jannah and Shanteau had a pair en route to giving the Chargers eight on the night.

UAH will look to bounce back from the setback on Sunday as the team travels to the Peach State to take on Valdosta State. Kickoff is slated for noon CDT.
