LAST WEEK: The Chargers picked up wins over Gulf South Conference opponents Lee and West Alabama in this past week's matches. UAH defeated Lee at home on Tuesday in three sets (25-21, 25-17, 25-20), with the win at West Alabama on Thursday lasting four frames (17-25, 25-19, 26-24, 25-23).
OFFENSIVE SPARK: UAH had three players total 10 kills or more in Thursday's win over UWA. Junior
Haley Snyder led the squad with 13 kills on a .455 hitting percentage, while juniors
Kendall Knisley and
Olivia Bauman chipped in 10 kills apiece.
DEFENSIVE CONSISTENCY: The UAH defense currently ranks fourth in the conference in digs per set (13.84) and fifth in blocks per set (1.69). Junior
Kennedie Lariscy leads the squad with a 3.75 dig per set average and 199 total digs. Snyder has a team-high 41 total blocks, which includes eight blocks in the past two games.
ON THE ROAD: The Chargers are one game into an eight-match road swing, which spans Oct. 2-18. UAH owns a 2-2 road record so far this season, compared to a 6-4 home record.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP: UAH has an all-time record of 4-1 against Union, with the last matchup ending in a five-set win for the Chargers earlier this season on Sept. 9. The Chargers have won two of the last three contests against the Bulldogs.
ABOUT THE BULLDOGS: Union enters the week's slate of games on a three-match losing streak. The Bulldogs dropped GSC matchups to Christian Brothers, Shorter and Lee this past week.
