VALDOSTA, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville (15-11, 9-9 GSC) volleyball team dropped Sunday's match at Valdosta State (18-7, 13-4) in three sets.
Valdosta State jumped out to a 1-0 advantage after a 25-17 victory in the first set. The Blazers continued to have success over the Chargers in the second and third frames, winning by scores of 25-14 and 25-17, respectively.
Freshman
Anna Claire Johnson amassed the most kills for the Chargers on Sunday with a total of seven successful swings. Senior
Ashton Baker and junior
Olivia Bauman were second on the roster with five kills apiece.
Baker had a successful match overall, posting 21 assists and seven digs to go along with her five kills. The Milton, Florida native swung a season high .833 in the loss on Sunday.
Defensively, junior
Kennedie Lariscy led the way with 11 digs while fellow junior
Haley Snyder had a team-high four total blocks.
The Chargers will head into the final week of the regular season with a pair of Gulf South Conference matchups scheduled. UAH will be on the road on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against Lee, before coming home to Spragins Hall for Senior Night against West Alabama on Thursday at 7 p.m.
