LAST WEEK: The Chargers dropped two matches and won one in three Gulf South Conference contests over the past week. UAH fell at home to Shorter, before taking a four-set win over Mississippi College on Friday night. The Chargers capped off the weekend with a loss at Valdosta State on Sunday.
GSC POSITION: UAH sits at a .500 winning percentage in league games, good for sixth in the conference. Shorter (16-1), West Florida (14-3), Valdosta State (13-4), North Alabama (13-6) and Christian Brothers (11-6) precede the Chargers in the conference standings. The GSC Tournament is scheduled for November 11 and Nov. 15-16.
SUCCESSFUL STRIKES: Junior
Haley Snyder totaled 24 kills in three matches this past week, totaling a team-high .322 hitting percentage along the way. Snyder posted double-digit kill totals against Shorter and Mississippi College, hitting above .330 in both contests. This season, Snyder is third on the roster with 180 kills and has the highest hitting percentage (.262) among players with 300 attempts or more.
CONSISTENT YOUTH: Anna Claire Johnson continued her impressive freshman campaign with a total of 24 kills and 19 digs over the weekend. Johnson leads the Chargers with 264 kills and a 2.78 kill per set average, which ranks seventh in the GSC.
SENIOR NIGHT: UAH will be honoring senior
Ashton Baker on Thursday night at Spragins Hall. Baker is a four-year contributor for the Chargers volleyball squad, totaling 112 matches played, 2321 assists, 6.74 assists per set and 160 kills. This season, Baker is fourth in the conference with an 8.67 assists per set average.
ABOUT THE FLAMES: Lee currently is 7-10 in conference games, tied for seventh overall in the conference, despite being excluded from the GSC Tournament during the reclassification process. Offensively, Lauren Williams leads the team with 220 kills, while Haley Foote and Sadie Johnson have posted 300 or more assists. Stephanie Hernandez owns a team-high 388 digs.
MATCHUP HISTORY: The Chargers hold a 21-12 advantage in the all-time series against the Flames, after defeating Lee at Spragins Hall earlier this season in three sets.
