CLOSING OUT PRE-HOLIDAYS PLAY: The 20th-ranked Chargers will continue play on the road this week with a 9-1 overall record and as the only undefeated team in conference play at 4-0. UAH ventures to Shorter at 7 p.m. on Thursday before traveling to Cleveland, Tennessee, to face Lee on Saturday at  6 p.m. Both games can be heard on 97.7 The Zone in the Tennessee Valley.

BOUNCING BACK: Since falling for the only time this season back on Dec. 1 at Trevecca Nazarene, the Chargers have reeled off four straight wins in conference play, outscoring the opposition by an average of more than 15 points per night during the stretch. Reigning GSC Player of the Week Preston Herring has been terrific in the four games, nearly averaging a double-double with 9.5 points and 9.5 boards per contest.

BLOCK PARTY: Herring has totaled 23 blocks on the season – including a season-high of six against both Saint Leo and West Georgia – and the junior ranks second in the GSC in total blocks behind Valdosta State's Colin Cook who has 24 on the season. The total is also good for eighth nationally.

AMONG THE BEST: The Chargers are in the top 25 of the national statistical rankings in the following categories: assist/turnover ratio (17th), assists per game (12th), total assists (5th), field goal percentage defense (18th), scoring defense (15th), 3-point field goal attempts (13th), 3-point field goals per game (23rd), total 3-point field goals (12th), and won-lost percentage (20th).

ABOUT THE HAWKS: Shorter enters the game on Thursday at 7-3 (2-2 GSC) and coming off of consecutive road wins at West Florida and Valdosta State. Dedric Ware has been impressive for the Hawks, scoring 19.0 points per game, while Jordan Jacks has 9.4 rebounds per contest to go along with a scoring average of 17.1.

SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers are 4-1 all-time against the Hawks, and Shorter's lone win in the series came last year in Rome, Georgia, where the Hawks were 67-65 winners. The Chargers committed just five turnovers in the game but shot just 34.5 percent from the field

ABOUT THE FLAMES: Lee will host North Alabama prior to entertaining the Chargers on Saturday, and the Flames own a 7-2 (2-2 GSC) record on the season. Three players average double figures for the Flames, led by Cory Billingsley's 17.2 points per game which is boosted by a strong 53.8 3-point field goal percentage.

SERIES HISTORY: UAH owns the all-time series against Lee by a 4-2 margin after taking both meetings last year. At Lee, the Chargers won 59-52 as four players scored in double figures for the Blue and White, including Greg Gardner's 10-point, five-assist, and four-rebound performance.
