Kirsten Giles has made an immediate impact for the Chargers offense this season, notching 151 assists in seven games. The Hazel Green, Alabama native totaled a season-high 50 assists at CBU and has posted a double-double in each of the past three games. Giles averages 7.95 assists per set, good for sixth in the GSC.
HITTING THE SPOT: Freshman
Jordan Morrison leads the conference with a .396 hitting percentage while amassing 46 kills on the season. She has committed just eight attacking errors in 96 attempts.
ON THE OFFENSE: The Chargers rank among the top three in the GSC in kills (409), hitting percentage (.226), and assists (378). UAH also has a conference-high 55 service aces, led by
Kennedie Lariscy and Giles with 10 service aces each.
ABOUT UNA: The North Alabama Lions enter the weekend with a 4-4 overall record and a 2-2 record in the conference following a five-set loss at Lee on Tuesday. UNA currently owns a 2-1 record at home, picking up GSC wins over Christian Brothers and Mississippi College. Senior Megan Gorey leads the conference with 121 kills.
RIVALRY MATCHUP: UAH owns a 16-49 all-time series record against UNA. The last matchup occurred on Nov. 5, 2013 at North Alabama and ended in a 3-1 win for the Chargers.
